“I wanted to thank you for your newsletter. I just completed my first triathlon, the womens danskin in new england. It was fantastic. I have not swam in open water since I was a teenager ( I am 40 now!), and never took formal swimming lessons,(never mind that i am now 60 lbs overweight since last year) I started learning how to swim about 4 mths ago by printing out your lessons and going to the local YMCA to practice. At first I felt discouraged but then I came across your website and started seeing improvements immediately, I can actually breathe properly!! I did my 1/2 mile in 22 minutes which for me was wonderful. I started out in the back and mainly focused on going slow and staying at a steady pace and concentrating on my form. “I’m a 60 year old age grouper who participates in triathlons and after a 10 year absence from the sport I’m back. I’ve been hitting the pool since last fall and my swim hasn’t been going anywhere in the past few months. For endurance I have been doing 2000 meter training sessions and my times were averaging around 2:30 plus per 100 meters. That was O.K. for me but nothing to get excited about. I was getting frustrated so I paid attention to your 5 step introductory lessons and then decided to order the DVD. “Kevin, I get your emails every week and really look forward to them. I’ve been a triathlete for 8 years now. Up until this year have always been one of the last out of the water as my main focus has been bike and run.
